Zero Waste Toothpaste

Every year, more than one BILLION plastic toothpaste tubes are thrown out. One billion. According to Bite, that is 50 Empire State Buildings. Considering that by 2050, there will be more plastic in the ocean than there are fish, that is terrifying. They are also packed with weird preservatives and harsh chemicals to keep the paste fresh for as long as it sits on the shelf and in your home.
Your first Bite order comes in a glass jar — glass is infinitely recyclable — and all subsequent orders, which are sent automatically, are shipped in 100% home compostable pouches. And, of course, the box is completely recyclable. The last wonderful bonus: Bite is shipped using existing postal routes in an effort to reduce its carbon footprint, meaning you are likely creating a larger footprint by driving to the store for toothpaste. For reference, we received our shipment 5 days after ordering.
I won’t lie, there was a transition period switching from paste to tablet; about a week. Now I’m like, what’s paste? You simply bite once and begin brushing as it foams in your mouth. The taste is lovely, it has natural whitening ingredients (actually, all natural ingredients), and is cruelty free (because no company needs to add to the already 100 million animals that die from chemical testing in the U.S.).
Over the course of a year, I tried 6 options. Bite was our favorite specifically the mint w/ activated charcoal (they also make berry twist for kids!). I can’t recommend this brand enough — let me know if you try them out!
